Stitch Maker — le convertisseur

Reducing several million shades to the few hundred threads actually sold is a problem of perception, not arithmetic: comparing colours in RGB turns faces green.

What I do there

• Colour matching in CIELab: the DMC palette is converted once, then each shade in the image finds its thread by perceptual distance rather than RGB distance
• A canonical JSON pattern — grid, palette, symbols — the single source behind the preview, the printable file and progress tracking
• PDF pattern laid out to the conventions Pattern Keeper expects, a format reverse-engineered and documented
• Cost announced before starting: derived from the requested size and colour count, reserved, then debited under a lock so it can never be charged twice
• Conversion handled outside the request, with credits refunded automatically on failure

Stitch Maker — la boutique

Selling and converting are two different jobs. Rather than grafting a checkout onto the conversion application, the store is a full Sylius application in its own right.

What I do there

• Catalogue reduced to the essentials: credit packs as variants, with their payment methods and invoicing
• On a paid order, a credit entitlement is recorded locally — never a direct write into the other application's database, so nothing to repair if it is unavailable
• Double idempotency: one entitlement per order on the store side, one movement per origin on the wallet side; a replayed sync never credits twice
• One account: the customer signs in once and finds their credits on the converter, with no second password
• Dedicated admin screen for credits: full movement history and traceable manual adjustment

The blog ran on a Bolt CMS nobody kept up to date, and it could do exactly one thing: publish posts. The channel needed more than that — showing the series in progress, keeping an inventory of the hardware being repaired, and handing out duplicate game keys without going through a third-party service. The site is rebuilt on the same foundation as the one you are reading, and the blog’s old addresses redirect to it one by one.

What I do there

• Series and videos pulled from the channels automatically, instead of being copied over by hand
• Spare game keys to give away, with their description and cover art fetched from Steam as they are entered
• An inventory of the machines in the collection and under repair, each with its own page
• A live-status banner that clears itself when the probe stops answering, rather than announcing a stream that is not happening
• The blog’s old addresses redirected one by one, so the search ranking already earned is not thrown away
• A home-grown back office, legal pages and error pages included

Stitch Maker — la vitrine

A page selling a chart generator has no business showing a stock photo. The hero pattern is produced on the same principle as the product itself.

What I do there

• Generator in Python: the pattern is described as a character map, and the 195 stitches are written by the script rather than by hand
• Palette taken from real DMC references, which also serve as the accent colours of the whole page
• Stitches appearing outwards from the centre, timed at generation: no animation library to load
• A static page of a few dozen kilobytes, with no external dependency and no tracker
• Published on its own subdomain, alongside the converter and the store

Auto-stream d'impression 3D

A 3D print runs for hours and nobody wants to start a stream by hand at 2 a.m. The stream has to start and stop on its own. Code name: print-stream.

What I do there

• Start and end detected through OctoPrint (webhook) and Moonraker (websocket)
• A single encode, duplicated by the tee muxer to all three platforms
• Camera, logo and dynamic text composed on the fly
• Runs on a Raspberry Pi

Demandes musicales sur Twitch

Viewers request a track, and it has to play without breaking the stream or the sound. That is why the core and the player are separate. Code name: deezsr.
